Today marks 101 books read and rated on Goodreads for me.  I think I started out in Octoberish of 2010?  So just over a year?  Unlike some or most people, when I started on Goodreads, I didn't go through and mark every book I'd ever read.   This was for a few reasons.   First, there is no possible way that I could do this.  I have read so many books in my life that it would take the rest of my life to find and mark them all.  Second, I kind of wanted to start with a clean slate and not complicate things too badly.  Where do you draw the line?  Books you've read in the past 5 years?  10?  As an adult?  Since you were of accountable age?  I mean really.  And third, if I really liked a book that much, chances are I'm going to read it again, and therefore it will be put on my list.  ALRIGHT, I CONFESS!!!!  I'm a re-reader.  There are some books that I read almost every year.  Anyway, on this Valentine's Day, I just wanted to say that I heart Goodreads.  :)  It's one of the few social media sites that I can stand and actually like.  (There aren't many - most of them creep me out to no end and I think they suck the life out of you)  And it's filled a void in my life that has been there since I quit working at the library.  I could sing a song about it if you like.........okay, maybe not.  But I do love my books.

Don't think that Goodreads is all I heart on this very mushy day.  I love my family very much, especially my husband and my baby (okay, not so much of a baby anymore, but I like to pretend).  Dave, thanks for doing all those things for me that I hate, like vacuuming, taking out the garbage, and plunging the toilets.  Oh, and killing spiders.  And folding laundry in the middle of the night.  (I promise I actually do some things.......er, when I think of them I'll let you know)  Chances are, if you weren't here to do them for me, they would never get done.  And I would become like one of those hoarders that get squashed by their own junk, except in my case it would be the kitchen garbage and crumbs piling up on the floor.  See?!  You saved my life!

So thanks for loving me even though I'm a nerd and accidentally fall asleep in the middle of the day instead of folding the laundry myself.  And, you know, just being a nerd in general too.  Happy Valentine's Day!!!
