So for Halloween, we had a pretty busy day. Dave's official swearing in for the Utah State Bar was that day at noon, and Lisa wanted to have Sophie come into work so she could show her off to her co-workers. :) And then there was all the Halloween-y stuff too. So we got her all ready to go in her costume in the morning and took her in to Lisa's work before the Bar ceremony. She caught on pretty quick to the idea of a bunch of strangers giving her candy. Only one problem. She kept trying to take their entire bowls of candy rather than just one. :) Of course, everyone loved her and said how cute she was......which was true. We then did a quick change into her dress for the swearing in and made our way over to Abravanel Hall. Surprisingly, she was so good during the whole thing. It was naptime, it was a formal affair where she had to keep quiet and stay relatively still, and she was superb. Afterward, Dave had to sign some stuff, we took a few quick pictures outside, and we made our way home. Yay for Dave! He's official now!
Later, (after naptime) we got her back into her costume and let her loose. We hit most of the houses on our street and a few others, and she was still going strong. One funny thing. When people would hand her candy, she would take it from them, and then refuse to put it in her bag until the next house when she needed to have her hands free to take more candy. Funny girl. I guess she figured it was her candy and if she let it go, she might never get it back. True. All true. She's probably not getting at least half of it back. Anyway, on to the pictures. I'm really pleased with how her costume turned out. And she loved it. She kept swishing it back and forth and dancing.
This first one is of Sophie and Mark at the swearing in.
Us and my parents afterward.
Us and Dave's parents.
Just can't wait to get out there! Actually, there were tons of kids on our street, so she was probably looking at all of them and wondering what the heck was going on.
Can we go yet? Can we? Can we?
A rare moment of Sophie playing with my Dad. She's terrified of him. We haven't figured out why.
Yay for our pumpkins!!!
Arrrrrr......how do I open this booty?
Oops, I also forgot that after trick or treating, we went over to Chapman's house to show her off......okay, really just to visit. They haven't seen us since we've been back. Sorry, no pictures from over there.
Whew! Okay, so we made it through everything with flying colors. Sophie was phenomenal all day. Hardly any breakdowns at all (except when we refused to let her take the entire bowls of candy......all day).

The costume looks amazing! It appears that you used the "scary eye" side of the skull fabric and it looks great! She looks so cute, and I'm glad she had such a great time. And I am sooo jealous of the pumpkins...we went to the patch but still haven't carved them so I guess that won't be happening.
And Congratulations Dave!
It's cuz your dad is soooo tall :) surprised she hasn't figured out yet that he is just a big teddy bear though!! can't believe how big Sophie is now...she is darling and looks just like her mommy!! Congratulations to Dave! now the fun really begins!!
