Well, I know many of you have been blessing the days since winter has started.  No, not because of the snow and freezing conditions, but because you don't have to read about gardening on our blog.  Unfortunately for you, it's that time of year again.  Time to start planting some of the seeds that take a little time to grow before I can plant them in the garden come April or so.  So, I have officially planted the first installment today, and I'm pretty excited about it.
This year, I decided to order some seeds out of a seed catalog to shake things up a bit.  You can find a lot of different things at stores locally, but they don't have nearly as much variety as a seed catalog will.  Some of the ones I'm excited about that I bought are:

Balloon Flowers (White and Blue) - the buds look like balloons before they open up

Zinnias

Pincushion Flowers

Gerberas

There are others as well, but I can't really show all of them.  Anyway, I'm excited to try some new things this year........that is, if I ever get to plant them.  We don't know what we're doing this summer yet, so if we end up going to Utah for the summer and I'm unable to plant any of them in my garden, maybe YOU'LL be the lucky person I give my plants to!

I'm sure there will be other pictures soon, so stay tuned.

This has been an episode of "Brooke is a Gardening Freak."

Ahhhahahahahaha! Brooke is a gardening freak...that's funny. Does that mean I am too? Maybe not cause I haven't even thought of planting anything yet. I don't expect to see warm weather until July. Winter doesn't want to go away.

You've got to just close the curtains, ignore the snow outside, and have faith that spring will come just like it does every year. Planting seeds helps. And you know very well that you caught the gardening disease from me last year.......and it NEVER goes away! Mwahahahahahahaha!

You can bring your flowers to me anytime you want to. I promise I'll try to take care of them, but of course I can't control what the deer eat. However, don't bring the Zinnia's here because your dad hates them!
