Now I just have to finish the shirt that will go with it. My other project, which, if it's possible, I'm even more excited about, is a book that I'm making. I'm finding something out about myself. I'm kind of a nut about organization. If I can organize it, I will. My spices are alphabetized for goodness sake. If we had the space for it, I would organize our DVD's by category and then alphabetize them. My piano books are separated by categories. So.......I decided to make it easier for me to look through my patterns and decide what I wanted to make next. Not only that, but I also decided it would be useful to keep track of changes I made to the patterns and what I might do differently the next time. Because as organized as I am or would like to be......I have a horrible memory. :)
So here's what I came up with.
The book has different categories separated by tabs with an info sheet next to each pattern. All I did was copy the pattern front of each of my patterns and I'll have the patterns organized by company (Butterick, McCall's, Simplicity, etc.), then number, in my filing cabinet. So all I have to do is look through my lovely book, decide which one I want to make (without rifling through tons of patterns with no rhyme or reason), then go get the pattern I want. I'd like to say it was my idea, but being the geek that I am, I got it off of a sewing podcast that I listen to called Sew Forth Now. So I took the idea and made it work for me.
The info sheet next to each pattern has 5 spots for 5 different times I could make each pattern (Ha! Not very likely, but you never know, the impossible could happen). For each time I make a pattern, I put down which view I made, what fabric I used, what I liked or disliked about the pattern, changes I made, and changes I would make the next time. So that about wraps it up. I'm excited to be able to keep track of my sewing projects. Yay!

That's an awesome idea for organizing! Maybe someday down the road I'll do something like that. I love the skirt, by the way. Especially the fabric. Can't wait to see the shirt that goes with it!
Great idea for organizing!
