Dave finished up with the Bar on Wednesday and we went out to eat on Thursday at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate. Sophie spent the first half of our stay there going back and forth between me and Dave and refusing to eat anything and basically just being whiny. The second half, she realized there was music going on in the background and couldn't decide if she just wanted to dance on the bench or eat her food. So she did both. At the same time.
We've gotten together with Dan and Jorden a couple times, and Sophie was able to play with Payton.
They do love to play the piano together.
They've been here a couple times and we went there once. We were able to go back to the pool with both kids and Sophie actually did pretty good this time. No hysterical screaming. It's a step up.
I had Dave help me make peach jam last weekend. Since it's not freezer jam, it's a little more complicated to make by yourself. We took 3 hours to make 3 batches. Dave's such a good sport to help me that long. And can I just say that my food processor has saved my life? It used to take me 3 hours to make just one batch because I had to chop up the fruit by hand. Anyway, it turned out beautifully. Thanks Dave!
On Monday we went to the Living Planet Aquarium as a family for Lisa's birthday. It was pretty neat.......except for the fact that Sophie refused to walk, she refused to ride in her stroller, and she refused to let anyone else hold her.......
Except. For. Me.
Aaaarrrggghhhhhh...........my arms hurt just thinking about it. She's been pretty clingy lately, especially when she's in a strange place. And I think the masses of people scared her. We were planning on going to the zoo, but it was pouring, so we went there instead. Unfortunately, everyone else had that idea too. Grrrrrrr........good thing she's cute.
Anywho....
We also went to Texas Roadhouse Grill for dinner on Monday. So good. You may not know this about me, but I tend to judge my restaurants by their pre-meal offerings. Their rolls with cinnamon butter scored a 10. :)
Wednesday was actually our 4 year anniversary, but we had some other things going on and decided to celebrate on Thursday. Mark willingly babysat Sophie all day, so we took advantage of it and did a lot of different things. Since we're on a no-job budget, we decided to hit the dollar theater first (Rio - it was actually pretty good!), then we took a drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon (I'd never been up there before), we took in a round of mini golf at Boondocks (our big splurge - oh, and unexpectedly, we actually tied. Dave usually crushes me.), went to dinner at the Mayan (dinner and a show of course! - thanks Mark and Lisa!) and we both had amazing smoothies with our meal (and agreed that we didn't like each other's when we switched to taste - so funny!), and ended our night by going to IKEA just for fun. It was a pretty fun day. And it was nice to just get out of the house and spend some time together.
So that was our week.
Busy busy busy.

Sounds like lots of fun adventures! Sophie IS cute, and it's a good thing. I can remember my arms feeling they were going to break off a time or two.
